Geotagging with Picasa 3 and Google Earth 4.3

So has anyone really taken on the whole Geotag feature of the Google's Picasa-Earth duo? If you are running Linux or FreeBSD; I would imagine probably not, but fear not for now there is a way for you to add GPS data to your photos.

For this howto I'll be using a picture from a tower 3000 meters up on Kitzbuhel Horn, Austria.
