UK embedded software training firm Feabhas will host a pair of embedded Linux workshops at next month's Embedded Systems Show (ESS).

Linux.com: "I was surprised at the different results I got searching for the word "ethernet." Although it is obviously only a single search, Tracker returned what might be the most relevant result as the top item.

Beagle showed the networking HOWTO as the fifth result (shown as "Networking" in the results), with the HOWTO indexes scoring higher than the individual HOWTOs.

The Ethernet HOWTO that Tracker offered as it's top hit is much more applicable to the search term."

Beagle and Tracker are projects that allow you to index your files so you can quickly search filesystems. Both projects started out with the intention of being used with the GNOME desktop, but have recently made a push to be desktop-independent and work with KDE and other desktop environments.

Digi-Key has picked up a low-cost evaluation board aimed at low-volume embedded developers, hobbyists, and students.

The U.S.-based distributor of single-board computers and other embedded development products says TI's $150, 3-inch-square Beagle Board offers a unique opportunity to evaluate ARM's Cortex A8 and TI's OMAP3 architectures.


 

Resolve Tracker Problem in Ubuntu

Ubuntu has an indexing software by default called Tracker. It replaced Beagle which was a mono app. I have been using Ubuntu for some time and have ran into this problem where Tracker simply doesn't show any results
