Today’s article will be a bit different than the previous ones since I’m going to focus on the biggest annoyances of KDE 4.1 from my personal perspective.

In order to maintain some credibility I’ll however point out the solid achievements alongside with the failures of K Desktop Environment 4.1.

The latest series of the K Desktop Environment now utilizes Plasma, a ne| desktop and panel user interface tool that aims for a more functional, user-friendly, and sleek KDE desktop.

Plasma also supports Dashboard-like widgets called plasmoids.

Install configure and use LXDE desktop environment in openSUSE. LXDE is a new project aimed to provide a new desktop environment which is lightweight and fast.

It’s not designed to be powerful and bloated, but to be usable and slim enough, and keep the resource usage low.

LXDE doesn’t tightly integrate components rather makes them independent

Use Linux. That's right, retain that XP look and feel goodness without violating any rules or creating other problems for yourself by using the little known XPDE (XP Desktop Environment).

PC-BSD is a desktop version of FreeBSD (32 & 64 bit). It comes with KDE desktop environment preinstalled and working.

You can install software with a double click on a ".PBI" file (like it was a normal ".EXE" in Windows)...
