Codenamed Feisty Fawn, Ubuntu 7.04 is preparing its exit, stage left as its developers will soon end the support for the LInux distribution.

As of October 19 Ubuntu 7.04 won't be getting new patches or security fixes so it would be best to upgrade to newer versions like 7.10 or 8.04 LTS.

Ubuntu 7.04 support is almost at it's end! Make sure you upgrade before you stop receiving critical updates!

After reading continually about Ubuntu, and having heard about what a great Linux distribution it is for over a year, I finally broke down two days before Fedora 7 was released to the public and installed Feisty Fawn 7.04 on my /backup partition to give it a spin.

I started with Feisty Fawn, and after upgrading once Gutsy Gibbon came out, I decided I never wanted to go through that pain again.

That was, until I discovered that you could move your /home folder and all of its contents to another hard drive.

I was thrilled.

A Nokia-sponsored project is porting Ubuntu Linux to the ARM architecture. The "Handheld Mojo" team has completed ARM builds of Feisty Fawn (dubbed "Frisky Firedrake") and Gutsy Gibbon ("Grumpy Griffin"), with Hardy Heron compilation starting soon.
