The Kathrein UFS 910 - HDTV Info Europe spin-off site reached its 1st year anniversary! In just one year time the linux based Kathrein UFS 910 became a fully HDTV capable satellite receiver with many goodies known from the 1st successful Linux satellite receiver, the Dreambox.

Softcams like Mgcamd & Mbox are now also available for the UFS 910.

I have a need to setup an access point. Many of the discussions on the web include all kinds of extra goodies that one normally sets up with the access point.

But I just needed an access point: no dhcp, bridging, etc. Here's how I did it.

A question comes to my mind, Why would anyone download Ubuntu when Linux Mint provides all the goodies ob Ubuntu with some added extras?

When Service Pack 1 came along, I was pretty full of hope, but the PC was only moderately faster and still much slower than my 4-year-old PowerBook, despite 2GB of RAM and the latest goodies.

KDE 4.1 to bring back Konqueror tree view, other goodies

When I wrote about file managers in my review of KDE 4.0, I noted that several important features had been removed from Konqueror, including the tree-based detailed view.

Many power users regard the tree view as the most effective mode for advanced file management and mourned the loss of this feature.

If you have a small server for your own use (such as your personal page) or have a busy server servicing a lot of php requests you might find it a good idea to install some goodies in order to optimize the performance of your machine.

A really good start might be installing the eAccelerator.
