One of the smallest laptops these days is the UMID 315g. It's not really a netbook, but a so-called Mobile Internet Device (MID) It just weighs 315 grams.

It has a 4.8 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel touchscreen, an Intel Atom CPU running at 1.1GHz/1.33GHz, with 512MB to 1GB of RAM.

The UMID will be a available with Linux, Windows XP, or Vista.

The Intel Atom-equipped USI MID-160 sports a 5-inch 800x480 touchscreen, but lacks a keyboard, helping it keep a 0.6-inch profile.

If you're going to make a Mobile Internet Device and you want to take on PMPs A or, heaven forbid, the iPhone 3G, then you better make sure it's compact and attractive.A That's at least one lesson USI have ...
