Security appliance uses Intel SoC

Portwell has announced a network appliance that uses Intel's EP80579 SoC (system on chip) and targets security and IP telephony applications.

The CATO-3000 features seven gigabit Ethernet ports, PCI Express x4, 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch hard drive expansion, and Intel's QuickAssist technology, says Portwell.


 

Mini-ITX sports T9400

Portwell has announced a mini-ITX board employing Intel's recently announced 2.54GHz Core 2 Duo T9400 processor.

The "WADE-8067" has four SATA ports, two serial ports, plus two gigabit Ethernet ports, supports up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, and includes a PCI Express expansion slot, says Portwell.


 

Car PC puts Atom in single DIN slot

Portwell has introduced an interesting Intel Atom-based PC aimed at in-car entertainment. The PCS-8230 fits into a single DIN slot, offers TV tuner, WiFi, and GPS modules, has a SDIO slot and a 2.5-inch hard drive bay, and delivers six channels of analog audio, says Portwell.


 

Atom-based ECX board runs Linux

Portwell has announced a single-board computer (SBC) using Intel's Centrino Atom chipset and ECX (embedded compact extended) form factor.

Targeting applications such as kiosks and digital signage, the PEB-2736 supports dual displays, has a CompactFlash slot, and accepts an optional TPM (trusted platform module), says Portwell.
