RMS: I was taught ideals of human rights growing up in the United States inthe 60s, and then was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement and theAntiwar Movement.

So I have cared about issues of freedom sincebefore I began programming.

Going back to 1984, Richard M. Stallman (aka RMS) declared to build a completely free, portable operating system.

He took the model of UNIX, which was the most popular system back then, and started writing pieces of the system.

This is some poor kid trying to interview RMS, but RMS seems to be unnecessarily acting like an ass to him.

He's yawning, correcting the kid's English, etc, when its clear that English is not the interviewer's first language.

What's the deal?

Richard Stallman, the father of GNU, has so dramatically changed this world with the free software movement, and is largely responsible for Linux as we know it.

Without him, I doubt open source would be anywhere near as far as it has come. And I'm sure a few females would be happy to find out that he is looking for a wife.
