Linux servers posted year-over-year revenue growth of 10.0%, for a total of $1.9 billion in the quarter. Linux servers now represent 13.4% of all server revenue, up from 9.4% a year ago.

Microsoft Windows server revenue was $5.1 billion in 2Q08, showing 1.7% year-over-year growth.

Revenues for Microsoft's SQL Server in 2007 grew at a rate of 14% over the previous year and at a rate that exceeded that of its principle relational database rivals, IBM and Oracle, each with 13.3% growth.
