Atom squeezes onto Pico-ITX board

Axiomtek has announced what it says is the world's first pico-ITX SBC (single board computer) packing Intel's Atom processor.

The PICO820 offers 1.1GHz or 1.6GHz Z5xx CPUs, gigabit Ethernet, a SATA port, a VGA port, and headers for four serial ports, the company says.


 

Atmel-based industrial SBC runs Linux

Taiwanese industrial computing specialist Artila Electronics is shipping a single-board computer (SBC) for industrial applications.

The M-508 Linux Computer and its temperature-resistant M-508T twin are based on ARM9 Atmel processors clocked to 180MHz, and include a preloaded version of Artila's Linux 2.6.14 based distribution.


 

AMD preps low-powered Atom killer?

[Revised, Aug. 22] -- While Intel's Developer Forum hogged the limelight this week, AMD was shyly preparing to ship its own competitor to Intel's Atom.

The AMD Sempron 200U and 210U will sample next month on a 3.5-inch SBC (single board computer), says Taiwanese manufacturer Ibase.

Low-cost ARM9 SBC supports Linux

Glomation announced an ARM9-powered single-board computer (SBC) that runs Linux and costs just $69 in volume. The GESBC-9260 (pictured) measures 3.75 x 3.5 inches, sports Atmel's 200MHz AT91SAM9260, and targets "highly connected image processing applications" such as Ethernet-based IP cameras, and bar code readers, says Glomation.

Eurotech announced a PC/104-Plus single board computer (SBC) with Intel's Z500-series Atom processors, and an optional 20-channel GPS receiver.
