I recently wrote about wanting to have a teletype . Well, I have since realized that teletypes weigh hundreds of pounds, draw hundreds of watts, and aren't available on eBay for a reasonable price.

A Germany-based retailer called One is shipping four branded, Linux-based netbooks that consume only 3.5 Watts apiece.

The One A440, A110, A115, and A140 are all based on the Via C7-M Ultra Low Voltage processor (ULV), and come with integrated Via graphics chips.

A Silicon Valley startup called CherryPal announced a two-Watt, $250 ultra-mini PC that runs Debian Linux.

Based on a 400MHz PowerPC-based system-on-chip (SoC) from Freescale, the solid-state CherryPal C100 Desktop offers managed "cloud" computing paid for by advertising rather than a monthly fee.
