More Ubuntu Linux Advertising?

Since I'm back in the saddle again... while catching up on some reading, I came across a post from the VAR Guy that I thought was worth spending some time on. In that post, the VAR Guy notes that we advertised a Ubuntu-based Inspiron Mini 9 over the weekend in some newspapers. I've done a bit of digging, and think those ads are US-based.

The VAR Guy "Dell began offering Ubuntu on selected consumer PCs about a year ago. The VAR Guy has one (and, full disclosure, he loves it). But this is the year that Ubuntu was supposed to move from geek users to a broader set of consumers — thanks to the release of Ubuntu 8.04 in April 2008."

Microsoft sneaks Search on to HP PCs.

Microsoft signed a deal to embed a Live Search toolbar on all Hewlett-Packard consumer PCs starting next year.
